COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES

Our highest priority is the health and wellness of our patients.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are temporarily adjusting our in-office hours. These may vary from week to week, based on the need. We are now also conducting virtual video visits.

Our phones are being answered during regular business hours at (503)297-9340, or you can email [email protected]

Governor Kate Brown announced plans to lift restrictions on hospitals, allowing them to reopen for non-essential surgical procedures starting May 1. We are working hard with the hospitals and the surgery center to ensure we meet the required criteria to ensure our patient’s safety. We will contact all our patients once we are able to begin re-scheduling canceled surgeries and other procedures.

As we open further for in-person appointments, please be assured that we will be taking the recommended precautions to keep our patients and staff safe.

Patients will be instructed that only one person can accompany them to an appointment if they are coming in for a pre or post-op appointment. Otherwise, we would ask that friends and family wait in the car. Also, face-covering must be worn by every person entering our office, and by staff at all times. We will be taking temperatures of every employee when they report to work. The front door will be propped open and patients will be instructed to wait at the door to be called forward.

At the time of scheduling, patients will be asked:

1. Have you traveled out of state in the last 14 days?
2. Have you had contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
3. Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days?

  • Fever greater than 100
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Cough
  • Loss of taste and/or smell?

4. Are you currently experiencing fever over 100, difficulty breathing or cough?

If you answered yes to question 1 and-or 2, please call your primary care provider or your State Department of Health for further direction.

If you answered no to questions 1 and 2, but yes to numbers 3 or 4, please contact your healthcare provider if symptoms are severe.

We will take the temperature of anyone entering our office and ask the survey questions:

4. Are you currently experiencing difficulty breathing or cough?

If the patient has had the aforementioned symptoms within the last two weeks or has a temperature over 100, we cannot see them.

Immediately upon entering the office, patients will be immediately taken to an exam room, and asked to wash their hands (this due to the current shortage of hand sanitizer).

As soon as the patient leaves, all surfaces will be sanitized.

Appointments will be staggered so that there should be no overlap of patients if at all possible. Scheduling will still be done taking into consideration the risk of the patient versus the necessity of the issue they are being seen for.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation during these difficult and unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Dr. Cober, Janel, Molly, Melody and Eric

You might be concerned about the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. We would like to give you some information in case you are worried about your own risk.

How it is spread

The virus is most likely spread like other respiratory viruses, so the care that you would normally take to avoid catching the flu is a good start for preventing the spread of COVID-19. The best way for all of us to prevent the spread of the new virus is to practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands frequently, covering your cough or sneeze in your elbow and not your hands, and staying home when ill.

If you feel sick

If you have symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and fever, and your symptoms are mild, we recommend that you stay at home. Remember that it is cold and flu season, so there are many possible causes of these symptoms. If your symptoms are more concerning, please call your primary health care before coming into a clinic, urgent care center or emergency room. Your primary care provider is your best resource for screening.
